Affiliation

This club is affiliated to, and authorised to teach Ki and Ki Aikido by, Ki Society, Japan.

Training is to the standards set by Ki Society HQ.

This is a very important point because many groups claim to teach Ki and Ki Aikido when in reality they have no connection with, and are not recognised by, Ki Society HQ.

Anyone wishing to ensure the organisation they are joining is genuinely teaching Ki and Ki Aikido may check the list of overseas Ki Societies, which is available here. We are part of the UK Ki Federation.

Southampton Ki Aikido Club is the only club in Hampshire to be authorised to teach Ki and Ki Aikido by the Ki Society, Japan.

Calvin Tabata Sensei, Chief Instructor of the North West Ki Society, USA, the most successful Ki Society outside of Japan, oversees Ki and Ki Aikido training in the UK. Tabata Sensei has over 40 years of training with the Ki Society.

Senior students have the opportunity to undertake intensive advanced training in the USA, in addition to training at Ki Society HQ, Japan.

Furthermore all Ki Society members are able to train at Ki Society dojos around the world, and their gradings are accepted at these dojos.

There are approximately 200,000 Ki Society members worldwide.
