We teach the Ki principles of Master Koichi Tohei and Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, a Japanese Martial Art based on those Ki principles.
Students are taught how to develop inner calmness through the unification of mind and body. This is called Ki training. Aspects of Ki training include meditation and breathing exercises.
Ki Aikido is the application of Ki principles to martial art training. Ki Aikido is therefore a way of training mind and body, not simply a means of self-defence. It is practised in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is non-competitive.
Because Ki Aikido relies on inner power and Ki principles, and not on physical strength, it is suitable for men and women of all ages and for children.
